It’s a misquote , I think, about the Lynton and Barnstable narrow gauge railway which closed decades ago and is now in the throes of being awoken by enthusiasts who are reconstructing the line in stages. I may be wrong and I can’t find the right words.
Anyway, this is the K&ESR A set in the platform awaiting the next turn of duty. The coach nearest the camera is Petros, our access coach only recently outshopped from carriage and wagon department.
A day of wall to wall meetings at the railway with an early start to get to the annual signalman’s meeting. A quick lunch then it was the annual members meeting.
Exciting events this year culminating in our 50th anniversary gala the first weekend in June, with up to 10 visiting locos over the course of the year.
The early start meant there hadn’t been an opportunity to visit your journals today. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to catch up.
Aperitifs are ready, we’re dressed, let Saturday evening commence.
