Grafting

Five of us met in C & T’s potting shed to have a go at producing more apple trees through grafting some cuttings onto root stock. We succeeding in potting up nineteen potential new trees, although it is highly unlikely that they will all be successful. Although it was good fun to practise a new skill, I have decided that this must join my list of dangerous pastimes after K cut her finger quite badly with a very sharp pruning knife, bad enough to go to A and E where the wound was fixed with super glue! Her husband wasn’t very happy when K was told that she shouldn’t do any washing up for at least five days.
I was happy to return home for an uneventful afternoon walking Bertie and preparing our evening meal.
