Fountains Abbey

We drove out to Fountains Abbey this morning to meet with my old school friend Helen and husband Tim.  After a catch up coffee we set out down  the path to the Abbey and then walked the circuit of the Studley Royal lakes.  There was much exchange of family and holiday news with a soupcon of politics thrown in before we arrived back at the restaurant for yummy lunches.  Afterwards we retired to the National Trust Shop where I came out with much more than the card I had gone in for!

We bid farewell to Helen and Tim with an invitation to come to us next and for a walk around the moor.  We stopped off for bird peanuts and a few provisions on the way home.
