What's on the Heath
I met H this morning for a walk on Kelling Heath. What weird weather we're having - the days go from Spring, back to Winter, to cold, wet and windy, with today being a dull, windy, but quite warm day. Nature must be so confused. These are a few photos from our walk. The little frog was at the pond at the Holiday village, two years ago there were lots of much bigger frogs there are this time. The volunteer and a colleage were cleaning loose paint from the current white line at the edge of platform at Kelling Heath before painting a new one. The tractor was delivering another big delivery of items relating to the electricity cables being laid across Norfolk from the windfarm. The EDP reported the other day that the project requires lots of regular deliveries of heavy machinery and parts from Boston in Lincolnshire to a depot near Aylsham. There will be up to 10 deliveries a week until December, in convoys of two vehicles at a time travelling during the day, each weighing up to 50 tonnes and measuring 14.7 feet across..........and will be on the A148 which is the main route to and from Holt. With holiday traffic including caravans as well on not the widest main road, it will be absolute chaos - goodness knows why they're not doing the deliveries overnight.
