morning light and wood smoke

There is an ongoing winter debate about wood fires, smoke and the related health hazards.
Most of the houses in our little street use 'pot bellies' as a major source of home heating. In the early morning as we all crank up the sleeping fires the chimneys spiral smoke and if it is a very cool morning, it settles and the sunlight streams through in stripey panels.
Very pretty for a blipper but it may be that that eventually the hum of heaters takes over.
