Shorne Woods parkrun
We travelled to Shorne Woods parkrun from Maidstone first thing. A warm welcome from the first timers' brief and the RD at the start of a beautiful 3-and-a-bit-lap trail parkrun with something different around every corner. Lovely trees in bud; still waiting for spring and Wren birdsong most of the way. Chatted to a lovely parkwalker and a lady who will do her 50th next week, all in Shorne Woods. Very friendly parkwalkers and volunteers. Advised by the dentist to walk today so my official time was - 50:34.
After the parkrun we had breakfast in the visitor centre before taking a walk to explore the woods further. Delighted to say that I received a call from the Maldon Estate Agent. A buyer made an offer which was fair and I was able to accept. I will contact lawyer on Monday. Early days, but exciting.
Then return to Maidstone to watch the 2 thrilling rugby matches. Disappointed with Scotland's second half performance, as they put up a good fight but too little, too late to make a difference to the score. England, on the other hand, had an outstanding match and, against all odds, won in the last seconds with a drop goal. So exciting.
After the game we walked to town for a drink and takeaway. I was on ginger beer, as I am on antibiotics following the dental treatment yesterday, but G enjoyed a couple of Guinness to commiserate the rugby results.
