Flowerpot man!
We had to leave the car out last night as we’d been warned by our drive sharing neighbours that the scaffolders were coming early this morning.
We set off down to South Yorkshire, not very familiar territory to us beyond passing through on the motor way. Chris had seen there had been a closure on the M62 due to an accident in the early hours. We hoped it would be cleared but no, we had to follow a diversion virtually into the centre of Leeds to get on to the M1.
I did suggest we could turn back but we carried on to Yorkshire Pots - Naylor's factory shop in Cawthorne near Barnsley. They have only just reopened for the season and have limited opening times so Saturday was our only choice.
So glad we persevered. We needed 5 pots for our Hydrangeas growing in front of the house in small terracotta pots (one recently damaged). They had the distinctive Yorkshire Pots - same shape as all except the head pots in the blip - (normally just terracotta) in a glazed finish. We were they had been an experiment and they were selling them off. Luckily I liked the dark teal glaze and although all seconds we found 5 that weren’t bad especially at £5 each!! They have labels on them saying £33 and we got all 5 for £25!
Definitely worth persevering with the journey we even, nearly, saw some sun!
No problems on the way back but the south bound was still closed and the queues horrendous. Back in time for the start of the Italy - Scotland game which is so far going well.
I thought the rather fetching flower pot man was worthy of a blip especially so for the unofficial Silly Saturday.
Off to doing front of house at the village Panto later. Was shocked to find I have to be there at 5.20pm as instead of the usual 7.30pm start they are doing Saturdays at 6.00pm.
I wonder how many people will turn up late!
