The reason for a lovely day with my daughter ....

... the Teacher's Strike!

School is closed for the day, so my daughter asked if we could go shopping to Manchester together.

Close to the station, these teachers were gathering to march through the streets to attend a rally. We watched as they set off on their march, chanting and cheering to the onlookers.

I thoroughly enjoyed our walk around the shops. I had my usual grumble when she took me into Hollister (all the usual stuff, too dark, too noisy, too cramped, too many plants), but she endured all my gripes because I bought her a sweatshirt (too expensive - although I kept this to myself so I didn't spoil it for her :-)).

She came home happy, with a longed for 'skater skirt', three tops, some long beads to go with her flapper costume and the sweatshirt.

She was a pleasure all day. x
