Procrastination

This sewing lark isn't as easy as it looks!

I bought my fabric. Then took ages after I'd pinned the pattern to the fabric before I could bring myself to make the first cut. And now, when I should be halfway through my project, I still haven't used the machine yet.

Baste - says the pattern. In my limited knowledge of dressmaking, gained from school over 30 years ago, basting is hand sewing before machine stitching. But as the pattern keeps using the word 'baste', and doesn't use stitch or sew, I'm guessing 'baste' means stitch by machine.

I'm already not sure if my dress will fit. I've pinned it together, and it seems tight, but I'm going for it anyway.

And will it suit me when it's finished (if it fits?) .... again, I'm not sure?

Mmmm! If the finished dress fits AND suits me, I don't think I will ever want to take it off.

It will also be a small miracle!

I'd better get praying!
