Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

the morning bright with rosy light...

Not surprisingly I was up sharp this morning and on Grandma duty. Katy did the girls hair before leaving for work, to my relief - that is definitely my weakest morning skill. We set off for school just before 8 and by 8.15, they were into breakfast club and I was on my way home again. They enjoy having a second breakfast before school and also being able to chat with their friends before the day begins. Their day seems long to me, but I forget sometimes that that is what they are used to.
I went back to bed and slept, long!
After lunch, I footered about in the garden a little, tied up the fallen rose and cleared some yucky winter debris. I also got a collection of stuff together, ready to take to Ali tomorrow.
We had bridge this evening, by which time I was feeling rather unwell, just light headed but definitely not fully with it. I wasn't able to find a sub though so I just decided to go along and see how things went. I drank a couple of glasses of water, ate a banana and had a couple of glucose sweets . By the time we'd played the first couple of hands I was feeling decidedly better which was good. I was probably just over tired. We went on to win, so I'm glad I persevered.
My blip was my view when I drew the curtains this morning. The silver birch reflects the morning light beautifully. It was cold though, the car took about 10 minutes to defrost.
It's late tonight, so apologies, I'll get around to looking at blip tomorrow. For now though, it's past the witching hour and time I was asleep.
