Exciting

This is not the best photo but it is very exciting.  We took the old nest box down with the camera in it and started to clean it out. Last year we had tree bees inhabiting the nest box and they filled it entirely with their sticky nest material.  So much so that it was utterly impossible to clean it all out.  On top of that they had wrapped up the camera and it had stopped working.  After much work we were unable to fix the camera.. some wires had been chewed through? and the lens was covered in the sticky stuff.  In the end my husband decided to build a new box and bought a new camera which we can access through our phones and it gives alerts when it hears or sees something in the box... we got it up two days ago and ...this morning... tadaaa!!  a little blue tit tried the hole out for size twice!! I feel very very hopeful now!

A quiet day at the homestead.. clearing up the projects that are complete and gathering bits together before starting anything new.  It was so cold I didn't spend any time in the garden but tomorrow I must whether it is cold or not.. (that's me told!)
