Day 27: into the sun
A little seedling of hope. We've been expecting you. Come on sunshine, they're not going to grow themselves.
I've been at the school all day today for sports day. The made it a big event this year. Despite some nerves both girls actually enjoyed it and were smiles all day. I dreaded sports day as a kid and even bunked off on a few of them. ANYTHING was better than taking part. Funny how I see it differently as a parent now. E's running is a lot more coordinated these days, I think the football must be helping. M looked so skinny, not helped by the shorts pulled up around her armpits with her shirt tucked in. She honestly looked like a giraffe!
Over lunch time M and all her friends came to sit with us. E on the other hand kinda patted me on the back as she came by on her way to sit with someone else's mum! I tried not to sob into my banana ;-)
This evening I've been photographing a charity event. Ive never worked by myself before, i had lots of butterflies. It was in a big marquee and I was hoping for lots of light. With all those blooming rain clouds I needed up having to get the flash out a lot earlier than I'd have liked. It was a bit tricky and the height of the ceiling changed as it draped affecting each shot differently.
J got called into work so poor grandad had to come over while the kids messed him about before bed. This is too much for him and I hate taking advantage like that. Feeling a bit frustrated that I can't plan to do anything without risking needing to be bailed out by grandad. I'd like to be able to save his help for one off odd occasions that we can give a lot of warning and choice over.
Home this evening to wrap a certain little giraffe legged girls birthday pressies for the morning xx
