Antithesis

Portland Art Museum.
Left, Standing Woman 1932, bronze by Gaston Lachaise.
Above Right, Head of a Buddha, 560AD limestone, China
Below Right, Seated Buddha, 18th c. stone w. gold leaf, Korea

The facial expressions and body language of these sculptures express greed and its antithesis.

A personal footnote: I remember this Gaston Lachaise woman very well from the sculpture garden of the Museum of Modern Art in NYC in the mid-20th century. But this is not that statue. It was cast in 2000, posthumously. To me this is like an 'Ansel Adams' photograph printed by someone else after the photographer's death. Not quite a fake, but not quite an Ansel Adams either! An expression of greed, perhaps?

I anticipate that most of my fellow blippers will agree.

GREEDY: TerriG challenge
ANTICIPATION: DDW challenge
