Tree Lichen

I struggled for inspiration today and was generally knackered. 
The weather improved and I needed to get out for a walk to try to wake up.
I dropped in at Mirehouse Ponds, hoping for some birdlife or some people fishing, in the event birds and people were scarce. I was just contemplating an emergency Herdwick sheep image (there were some in an adjacent field) when my eye was drawn to a reflected light in the tree branches. This lichen was quite prolific and the low sun was catching the blue/green colour. 
One thing about photography, you get to notice things more and I find I am interested to find out more about the things I notice - This is what I found out.
A lichen is a symbiotic relationship between an algae and a fungus, it does no harm to the tree and is useful for invertebrate shelter and bird nesting material. The particular one is called Ramalina farinacea , so there we are...
