Last piece

I made this fruit cake in September for Christmas 2022. We never quite got round to eating it so I sealed it up, topped up with a bit of brandy, and kept it in a cool and dark space.

Christmas 2023 seemed to pass by very quickly with no room to indulge in cake. We were just keen to keep warm. But in January I opened it up.

To my satisfaction it remained reasonably moist and flavoursome and over the past few weeks it has been tackled. Today is the last piece.

Maybe I should start on the cake for Christmas 2024 now?

Various workmen in and out today to sort the heating snagging points out. Just the joiner tomorrow to reassemble the housing cupboards.
