The centre of Switzerland
Today was my first visit to the Federal Palace and it was for a farewell aperitif for a colleague at the Galerie des Alpes restaurant, which is located inside the building. This was only possible because his wife works there and was able to make it possible. We had to arrive as a group at the exact time. Admission was only possible after a personal check and with ID. We were rewarded with an aperitif and then a short guided tour.
In the blip, the view of the dome with all of Switzerland's cantonal coats of arms. Or not all of them? There are 22 coats of arms in the picture, but Switzerland has 26 cantons. Part of the solution are the 6 half-cantons, each summarised in a coat of arms. The solution for the new canton of Jura (founded in 1978) was more difficult to find. After 3 years, the solution was found, see arrow in extra.
