Diary of an Edinburgher

Not The Castle…

A lovely bright, still, sunny, blue skied day again. Archie and I tried a new cafe on our morning stroll, and it was good. Almost very good. Quiet, calm tuneful music. Sunny interior, helpful barista, who gave Archie a 'puppuccino'. He's had one there before with Elizabeth, and he loves it!

It was sich a nice day that when we came home, we insisted that JR finish her breakfast and come out with us again.

We went down town to have a look at the castle. But at this time on a sunny winter's day, the castle is just a big dark shape. And so this shot looks out the other way. Ramsay Gardens on the left, Camera Obscura (white tower) in the middle, with Salisbury Crags and Arthur's Seat on the right.

We walked down all the steps - hundreds of 'em - to the Grassmarket, where we sat in the sun for a while. Mary's Milk Bar was shut. We walked on round to the entrance to the Gardens, where the others went, but I walked on to the bus stop. (6,806 steps).

BIG DAY tomorrow for Archie...
