Last Farewells

Almost the only photograph taken today, and at 4am. I had woken up briefly and noticed the moonshine coming through the landing window. It was a brief interruption to a reasonable night’s sleep.

Much of the last four weeks has been focussed on preparing for today. It all went well. The chapel was packed, the service was properly celebratory, and I think it hit just the right tone and was a great tribute to J. And lots of people came to the event afterwards. I have never spoken to so many friends in such a short period, there were people there I haven’t met in many years. I think J would have been amazed.
