At Last

It’s been wet and murky again today. Merlin and I did a two hour walk this morning and got quite wet. I kept Merlin’s spirits up with a few biscuits as we pottered on our way. A torrential downpour just before our afternoon walk left us wading in mud and water. Our persistence was rewarded when finally as we turned for home, the skies cleared and the sun shone brightly. We lingered to take it in.

Earlier I made a Victoria sponge cake. I felt we needed something to keep our spirits up in all this wet and mud. It wasn’t one of my best but is filled with blackberry and apple jam (made from fruit grown at the allotment) so it tastes good.

- To feel sunshine.
- To experience spring slowly emerging.
