Signs of Spring
I went in search of the humble coltsfoot on my walk today. They flower in March, but I hoped they might be early. Instead, a few, and only a few, lesser celandines were in flower. Soon there will be swathes of them.
I walked 2.8 miles, fairly briskly, from home through the hamlet of Lincoln Hill, past Walwick Hall and as far as the Military Road. Then I returned.
Margaret (across the road) came and brought her knitting. She and Mum sat in companionable silence for part of the time.
I was in the kitchen preparing savoury carrot layer. I’ve talked about it before: delicious, but the washing up is much more than usual!
We scoffed the lot!
