Reflections near high tide
This morning while S was having her dance (ballet) class in Onehunga, I walked past Onehunga Wharf onto a shared road adjacent to the southwestern motorway. I had a relaxing walk around the perimeter of the Taumanu Reserve. Was fortunate to get the first photos this year of two birds. First a pair of Poaka (Pied Stilt), and just before leaving the reserve a Kotare (Kingfisher).
Despite being little more than a couple of hundred metres away from the busy motorway, it was quiet and peaceful. Even a trip and fall (onto grass) failed to mar the experience.
