On the Farm
The girls were really good last night and I slept not too badly, though my right side was aching. Caught up with messages re Mum very early morning and spoke very briefly to #3 son. Sounds like she's frustrated but in the best place.
After breakfast there was 'rock, paper, scissors' to decide where to go and it was Farm Fresh, the dairy farm, which is a way out of the city, almost in Putrajaya.
It was hot and really quite busy. Quite a few organised trips, pre school, holiday programmes, students and loads of mainly Malay families. We saw the jazz loving cows (mainly friesians and holsteins), deer, goats, chickens but it was the bunnies who were the favourite. The girls had been there before so were able to give me the low down. Amelia went on the little train, we looked at the cow parade cows, some the big versions of the models we saw at the chocolate factory and we had a not very inspiring lunch. They had Boba, bubble drinks, which were wholesome but the chicken nuggets .....Then we had the tractor ride round the farm and Amelia gave the spoiler alert as we went up the hill, 'there is a big sign' and so there was and a stop for photos.
Being Friday lunchtime I thought we'd have a problem getting a Grab back but it came quite quickly but slowly enough to allow Amelia to retrieve the bag and toy she'd left in the restaurant. Home it was straight to the pool, to cool off. It was very windy but we were there nearly 2 hours and then they had a second bath.
Went back to HK in time to go out for hot pot with Wen Xin before she leaves on Sunday. Hot pot is not my favourite meal. It is social but it requires quite a lot of effort and often not much food, especially if you don't like tofu! But we went to Haidilao in Bangsar Village which is more like an experience than a restaurant. I was given an apron to protect my clothes (a skirt and top for once), there was a Sichuan face changing performance, lots of singing for customers with birthdays and the noodle pulling theatricals, though Ed Sheeran did pall after a while. There was a huge waiting area outside and free nail bar treatments while you wait. DO follow the link and read the bit about in person dining. Definitely an experience. 2 branches in London and one in Birmingham.
We came out just before 8 under an almost full moon and then spent ages in the Bangsar Village Mall, mainly in the stationery store. Tomorrow is last day of CNY so there were more fireworks. The perception that there have been more this year turns out to be right as the Malaysian government have now legalised fireworks so they are cheaper as they don't have to be bought on the black market.
I got home just before 10 and watched TV for a bit, a Harland Coben Netflix that I may, or may not, have seen before.
