Ei katu
Yesterday was a stunning day, not a breath of wind ruffled the water or the palm trees, not a cloud in the sky. We decided to take the bus around the island. There are two buses - the clockwise bus and the anti clockwise bus, we chose the clockwise as it came along first and we could get more of a view as we pottered past the seaside villages.
I chatted to this lovely lady in the main town of Avarua, she, like so many Cook Islanders, lives in NZ but was home visiting family. She was wearing a traditional ei katu (head lei) and was just such a happy, beautiful person.
Night Market for supper again - seafood stew with coconut sauce, delicious, fed 2 of us for $NZ24 - £12 to you Brits.
