Who Pays the Ferryman ?

Horrendous wind and rain from the word go.  Then hurricane Karen blew in for breakfast.  She gave an overview of the 12hr live event that will take place this weekend being broadcast from the Stoneworks in Kirkwall.   We have contributed raffles and CMC is catering for the crew.   Hopefully I’ll post a link tomorrow so you can all watch along.
 
After dancing in the Toon Hall this morning we went straight out to Houton to catch the boat to Flotta, via Hoy.  I gave a talk to the Flotta Over 50s club – which I usually do every year of their programme.  It was a non-ticketed event. The extra will show that they successfully tried to recreate a scene from ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.’
 
CMC is well in control of the purse strings.  Davy, who is offering light banter, is a very good member of the ferry crew.  They cross Scapa Flow a few times a day and the job must be quite repetitive.  However he is usually the only member of crew who has a light demeanour. 
 
Locally it is felt that further gales may interrupt with the expected drift northwards of playwrights.
