Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Holly

Today I had the joy of going to the dentist. As a result I have a further 3 appointments booked the first of which is 90 minutes long. Argh. At least they won't cost at much as last year's implant appointments did.
I parked in the Meadowbank Retail Park car park. It's full of bargain shops now and a huge new Lidl. I'm sorry the M&S outlet has gone though I enjoyed a wander round it
As I crossed the carpark I heard a screeching sound which reminded me of India as I realised it was the calling of a hawk. I looked around and came across this pair.
This is Holly, she is a Harris Hawk and is less than a year old. She's going to be used as a deterrent for pigeons and gulls and already seemed to be making an impression with her screech. There were no other birds in sight and the gulls in particular can often be a nuisance here especially at beating season.
Before my appointment I went into the Red Kite cafe and had a delicious savoury cheese and spring onion scone along with a coffee in lieu of lunch.
I've had another third day. I hope things will pick up after the funeral with all its resultant plans and arrangements. Popped in to see Katy this morning. That is always a pleasure
