Sitting on eggs?

It has been many weeks since I had a walk in Queens Park .... it always seems to be wet on a Sunday morning. Today has been the exception ... dry and mild so I managed a walk round the pond before church.

This Coot was sitting on a bundle of twigs, much smaller than a usual Coot's nest. Much activity round about with the Mallards, Tufted Ducks and other Coots splashing about. This female (I think) didn't shift her position once and the nest, if that's what it is, was right beside the path round the pond instead of in the middle of the water.

Sis will no doubt be in the park before my next visit so I will rely on her to keep me posted.
