Diary of an Edinburgher

Another healthy lunch

Popped in to see Mary this morning on our walk. Haven’t seen her since before our trip, and apparently she’s had a fall, broken her arm, and now has to fork out for private care. NHS arranged a care package for her, but don’t have any staff…

Once Archie had gone out with Elizabeth, we mulled over a few restaurants for lunch, but JR, ever efficient, had already put on the slow cooker for tea, so a scone was the ideal snack. We haven’t been in Project Coffee for quite a while - it's always mobbed, but we were lucky to get a seat today. They are famous for their large scones. And yes, JR asked for extra butter instead of jam.

JR walked on into town ‘to get her steps up’, I came home, as I suspected rain was due later. Besides, my toe was fair throbbing (podiatrist on Monday). I watched the BBC documentary on Alexei Navalny, made quite a while ago, after his poisoning, but before he returned to Russia and was imprisoned, and now murdered. What a brave men he was.
