Walking through vineyards

We chose a walk of 16-18km through the vineyards in the Mendrisio region of the Swiss canton of Ticino.  It was a fabulous walk, full of variety, woods, flowers, blossom trees, vineyards, quaint villages and fine views. In total there were 11 information boards which gave perspective to the local viticulture, history and bioculture. We even came across an old marble quarry, see extra, stepped foot in Italy and admired traditional old ways such as dry stone walls, terracing the hillsides and maintaining wooden supports for the vines.
