First

The first crocuses I've seen so far this year.  Soo welcome.  And it was a wonderfully sunny day today too, despite the early morning forecast being for cloud.  Always grateful for sun and gentle winds.  There was some fantastic marbly foam in the river too, but the crocus had to be the blip.
My brother-in-law phoned in the afternoon from the US. I missed the first call, and hoped it wasn't bad news.  Unfortunately, it was.  One of my nephews, only 41, had passed away overnight on the way to hospital.  Cause not yet known.  I didn't know him very well, having lived overseas for most of his life.
