Friends

It was super busy today, from start to finish. G had things she wanted to do at her desk, which meant I had to do the ironing in my room. :(  I signed her up to Spotify, so she listened to soothing P&W music as she worked!

Our friends Rita and Harish came for lunch around 2 PM. They came to pick up my old chair and very kindly brought lunch. :)) The plan was for Harish to leave after lunch with the chair and for Rita to stay on to talk and pray with a friend who arrived mid-afternoon.

The day went well, apart from the forecast rain arriving. It came with a vengeance, causing lots of disruption, so much so that the government has told people to work from home tomorrow if they can.

We were going to drop Rita home anyway, but now we also had to manage the chair that Harish couldn't take because it had started to rain again when he left. We made it to Sharjah without a problem. Some roads were badly flooded. Unfortunately, we had to drive through a deep pond. The car let us know what it thought of that.

We dropped Rita off but declined the offer of a cup of tea. I didn't want to stop the engine running. We got home safely, driving on empty roads. Phew.

The time with our friends was so intense it was never appropriate to get the camera out, so it was great that Rita was happy to pose for a picture before we left home.
