Girls in the splendour ..
of Cliffe Castle. They just loved this staircase.
Arriving late last night they went straight to bed, Jude seemed quite happy with her single mattress on the floor below Eda. By tge time they visit again we might set the bed up fully at the other side of the room.
A fairly chilled morning we didn’t set off to Cliffe Castle until late. Grace had to drop us and head down the road to park. The girls enjoyed passing the time on these stairs and waiting for the big clock to chime ( it didn’t.!) They wanted to go straight up the stairs but I persuaded them to look around tge downstairs galleries first. I thought Eda would love the mineral gallery ( she has a mineral b/day cake last year) she did but they both seemed more taken with the stuffed animals in the natural history room. Good to see really as I usually find it all a but creepy but if it enthuses children I suppose it’s doing its job.
Grace and Jude even joined in some Tai Chi!
A look around upstairs before heading for the Pavillion. Someone helpfully told us we wouldn’t get a table but we went anyway. Coffee for Grace and I and ice cream for the girls. We managed by taking a table for two with the girls sitting on the window ledge!
Last look at the birds and small animals in the outdoor enclosures before going back home fur a late lunch.
A very nice way to spend a damp morning.
Crafting after lunch we ( Granny) made Pom Pom characters.
I took another look at my blip from our last visit a few weeks and discovered it was a banner not stained glass! These windows are definitely stained glass!
