Springing

Overnight the flowers in the yard said “I’m going to wake up and bloom!”

The forsythia and bridal wreath are right on time. The pink camellia bud is one of several that are popping open. The pink crown of thorns bloom are mostly late spring and summer bloomers.

The purple iris buds are a BIG surprise as they have never bloomed this early. There are two other stalks with buds.

Nature does everything on her own schedule. I just hope she does not decide that it needs to be hot and humid before June!

Got a bucket list item checked off today for March 8. A birthday gift to myself. Heading to the coast to visit Bull Island which entails a 30 minute boat ride to the island off the coast of South Carolina. This island has a fabulous eco-system of birds and sea animals. There are trails, some forest and beaches. We will be dropped off and be on the island for several hours. A long time wish coming true. Extra special as a group of hiking friends are going with me!
