Quod oculus meus videt

Good Advice

It was such a lovely day. My Sister-in-law reached the 50 somethings today and we were having a lovely time enjoying good company, plenty of the bubbly stuff and lovely food.

Then.............. I noticed something unusual on my phone!

Not just unusual, actually downright alarming. I had bought not one but 8 iPhones on eBay! What to do, I was not at home, had limited access to the internet, I was worried!

I managed to check my account to confirm not only that I had won these auctions but I'd actually paid for one of the phones. That meant my Paypal account was also compromised. And then I lost control of my eBay account!

I called eBay, only to find my name was not on my account. I tried to explain and was doing quite well with the Indian call centre operator until he needed to verify my details. "I need to phone you back on the landline number I have for you" pause. "But I'm not at home" I said. "I cannot progress this case further until I can call you on this number" he said.

Right, had to get home. 50th Birthday celebrations curtailed we drove home, wondering whether we would find the house broken into and precious items missing (Well I thought that they may have accessed the account through the iPad at home, complete with iPad App).

We got home and everything was OK. Another call to eBay and the account is now suspended. An investigation will take place and all money lost will be credited back. At least that ie wnat has been said

I fell most sorry for the iPhone owner who received payment and allowed the hacker to pick it up from him this evening.

Anyway, here you have Oscar, who is oblivious to all of the exciting goings on.
