Eildon Hill North

I slogged up the steeper south side in sun. This is looking northwest-ish to the Moorfoot Hills , running up to Etterick Forest on the left and the Lammermuir Hills on right. Biting wind on the top, site of one of Scotland’s biggest hill fort settlements. Extra looks south-ish to The Cheviot with some snow, the Merse of old Berwickshire to the left.

Visited Crichton Castle and Church and the Abbey ruins at Melrose. A very engaging day in the Borders rounded off with some top notch clobber from a charity shop in Melrose.
