Weeeed!

I left Mishka looking after MrQ while I made a quick visit to Fishers Green in the hope of photographing great crested grebes doing their weed dance. I got lucky, even though this pair was a long way away.

I've added an image to extras of a little grebe with a feather in its bill. These birds feed feathers to their young and eat them themselves, it is thought to aid digestion and combat parasites.

Also in extras a heron on its nest.

PS I now think that what I thought was a feather in the little grebe's bill is a trick of the light. Sorry.
