Winter aconites
For once, both the district nurse and the engineer scheduled to service the ceiling track hoist had been and gone before lunch; usually our village seems to be last on the route for visits at unspecified times and we often wait all day. J had been vegetating in front of screens for too much of recent days - it's often what she needs when she's not well, but we decided together that a bit of fresh air would be a good idea and went for a slow, half hour meander round bits of the village. It was heavily overcast but not cold, and she was happy to notice lots of snowdrops, huge drifts of daffodils in bud as well as the few already blooming, birds and a squirrel. The bank of winter aconites is always striking at this time of year, and I like the curve of this corner with Pound Lane and the church beyond.
