Drove over to S’s , had a chat with her daughter M and then we drove to the Romo factory sale. I found out about it from one of my sewing group colleagues. Romo is a high quality fabric manufacturer ( upholstery and curtains) who have a sale of all their rollends and samples every year or so. We had trouble finding the right place , but eventually got there. It was a huge warehouse with loads of boxes of fabric on the floor. We had a good rummage and came away with about 15 different pieces between us - should have taken a photo of S carrying it all! All they asked for was a donation to charity. From there we drove to Newark snd gad a good look around a couple of antique warehouses for a eooden trunk for S. no luck but she did find a nice set if shelves for the studio and some antique lace, and we enjoyed looking around and reminiscing. Had lunch at Gannets too - we decided we were last there about 25 years ago. I left her house 1 hour before the Nottingham Forest kick off , so expected to be held up for ages trying to get over the river. It was incredibly busy - fans all over the road - but the traffic kept moving. Phew!
