The Yoof of Today

Amelia was given this by a friend at school today. I asked if she knew what it is/stands for - she has absolutely no idea....does she need to? Should I mind that CND signs are just fashion accessories?

I went on a lot of CND marches at her sort of age, even spending a few days at Greenham Common in my early teens. I was probably just following my friends, but I think I was much more politically informed than she is, even aged 11. Maybe I flatter myself in my memory!

In other news, normal day, hayfever a bit better but still definitely there. Went out for lunch to say goodbye to a colleague who has only been with us since January but who will be seriously missed. Then went to see Amelia's teacher who is really impressed with her progress, which is lovely (up 7 levels in maths this year - that's pretty good by anyone's standards). The sun has shone a bit too. All good.
