Cinders - Scottish Ballet

I had a morning of sorting calendars, admin, and booking my annual medication review due in a month. The first appointment I could get was in 2 months. I sent a card to Val and Ray who’ll move into their new home near Crewe, and one to Bev and Tim whose daughter’s baby was stillborn in their car.

Wild Frontiers, the company we went to Pakistan with, sent details of what looks like a really interesting trip to Kazakhstan which they hope to run in 2025 if there’s enough interest. We are tempted.

We drove to Gosforth then got the metro to West Jesmond to have some pre-theatre food. Mr C had hearts on skewers and some kind of mutton rissoles. I had hake and broccoli. We shared some sautéed fir potatoes. It was nice but not cheap.

Then we hopped on another metro to town. At Theatre Royal we discovered the ballet started at 7.30 not 7 so there was time for a glass of wine.

The ballet was so good. The choreography, light-hearted storytelling, dancing and music were such fun. I was a bit apprehensive as Sarah said Cinders had fallen over last night. It was only marred by people behind me constantly rustling sweetie bags. It beats me why they can’t manage a couple of hours without stuffing their faces.

Thankfully the riverside road home is open again after extensive repairs to stop it falling into the river, as I saw on Facebook the moor road is bad with snow.
