Hoy Hills - from the Porch
Road still impassable. Walked up the village kirk which hosts a café every Thursday morning. A chance to get an Orcadian as well. About twelve years ago I used to go up and wash up at the café every Thursday – under strict supervision of Eleanor and Liz. CMC did the baking. However, Thursday mornings have gradually changed with CMC now going to a piano lesson on Thursday morning then on to badminton. It was good to see one or two of the local worthies still in attendance. Especially Geordie. On the walk home we passed Hugh, then Jan, out walking, taking advantage of the bonny day. Luke also stopped his tractor for an update. He offered to come along on Friday with the snow plough. Someone mentioned that they are bringing back Andy Pandy. I can see it now. Andy will be applying for custody of Looby Loo and Teddy will be wearing a baseball hat back to front. There’ll be even more rapid shaking than ever in that wicker hamper. For a Thursday bonus there’s an extra of CMC hailing a taxi.
My first crush was Patricia Driscoll. It’s festered for 65 years.
