Black-headed Gull ( Larus ridibundus)
Despite the cold and wind Clickychick and I decided on a walk round the Thacka Beck Nature Reserve as a gentle break-in/try out for her new boots.
There wasn't a lot of wildlife and conditions weren't brilliant for photography. Plenty of Mallard and Moorhen but no other water birds. The usual small birds and I was informed we had missed Redpoll in some bushes.
A single BH gull was on the water making occasional sorties into the air getting blown about and returning to the comparative shelter of the water. I managed to catch it as it flew was blown past.
