Portobello Beach Edinburgh Day 299
I have given up waiting for the cloud to clear and allow a glimpse of the "super moon"! Sadly my plans to catch the moon rising over the shoreline here at Portobello will have to be put on hold for another day. The forecast is better still for tomorrow but the cloud, even with a high pressure build is hard to predict. My blip, therefore, is one that I took earlier - much earlier this morning on my morning run on the beach. I have given it a bit of makeover and tried to make the mask look a little lunar! The bright lights at dawn, beneath the cloud were impressive in their own way and the twin towers of the now silent Cockenzie Power Station continue to provide that focal staple that we will all miss when they eventually come down. Today is Midsummer's Day and one of the ancient term days that are still used by commercial landlords to collect their dues. There was a worrying piece on the BBC Radio this morning about this being another of those benchmark days that may result in some retail outlets no longer being able to continue to trade.
