A stroll to a lovely coffee shop where we shared an enormous almond croissant surrounded by lots of young people having breakfast meetings and working on their computers. We also had a look around the British Library. In the 90’s I shared an office with someone who’s partner was an engineer working on the construction of this building so it was interesting to see it as I know it gave him many headaches during construction.

Later we headed to Borough Market where we bought some spices and indulged in some delicious food from a couple of the vendors.

Then the highlight of our trip. Daughter was performing at Shakespeare’s Globe. We managed a quick chat with her before the performance. Very exciting for us all. She performed in three scenes. Different characters in each scene. Each time her body language and characterisation changed. Very impressive. The evening ended with a gathering in The Swan next door. It has been a long, exhausting month for her but an experience she will not forget.

The last time we were at The Globe was ten years ago. Little did we know ……..
