Befriending the waves

The day dawned rainy again. But that didn't deterred me from keeping a very special appointment: my first surf lesson ever. After years of looking at the surf culture with curiosity, I decided to experience it in the flesh, and booked an introductory lesson. Willian (with a "n") the instructor, was very friendly, boosted my confidence and kept my fears at bay. I really enjoyed lying prone in the board and gliding over the small waves to the beach, with a 50% rate of success, falling midway the other tries. I practiced standing up on the beach, but we had not enough time to try it on the water. I got back very satisfied and promising myself to continue learning the next time I come to the sea.
