In And Out

Dear O'H dear, Lovely Tea Jenny and The Mini Princesses,

I was off today so The Eldest Mini Princess and I went to Portobello beach to have a dip and try out my new birthday present of a dry robe.

As we walked into the sea, EMP was being very positive and enthusiastic “It’s really ok. It’s not nearly as cold as I thought it would be. This is absolutely fine, pleasant even”.

Or at least that’s the rough gist of what I think she said. I couldn’t quite hear her for the roar in my head of “IT’S F***ING FREEZING.*

So it was a short dip (no wetsuits). I am so glad we did it and it felt AMAZING afterwards. My new dry robe is brilliant. Also, EMP is hardcore!

Murphy definitely felt differently about the experience. The whining when he was in the water was the giveaway. As we walked back up the beach, EMP said “Oh, his bum hole is all red.”

“My bum hole is probably red too” I replied, “but thankfully no one can see it!”

In the evening (when we had warmed up) we went to the Dominion (again) and watched ‘All Of Us Strangers’ which was brilliant and utterly heart-rending.

I have loved spending time with EMP this week with some time off work (me) and no exams looming (her). My daughters are such good company.
