Pyrenean mountain dog
I am always a little wary when I come across a Pyrenean mountain dog. The local term for them is ‘patou’ and they are used to guard the flocks. They are not usually aggressive but will not let you pass if they think you are going to approach the sheep. This can be quite difficult if you meet one on a mountain path where is no way of getting past. This particular dog was not guarding sheep and was just running along the track and I expect it belonged to a local farmer. It was barking a lot and seemingly untrained so I was a little nervous of it. I made bread in the morning and prepared some chicken soup before going along to the tennis practice. There we are just two of us but we had a good game. Too many people seem to be unwell at the moment.
