Imbolc

I am late to the game learning about the Celtic Festival of Imbolc/Saint Brigid of Ireland. Imbolc in Gaelic translates to “in the belly,” symbolizing how the earth comes back to life. It is also a cross point in the year, half way between winter and spring. Brigid is the patron saint of Ireland of poetry, healing, creativity, and more. A symbol of Imbolc is the Brigid cross, and a tradition is to weave one from natural materials (mine was terribly crude out of straw). So pictured here, daffodils coming; Brigid’s (rough) cross; pruning apple trees with my buddy; and fire. Imbolc is celebrated on February 1 and 2, so another day of it.
