Sally Mair - Loving life

Fish Fingers

Well Fish at any rate, with fingers of colour! I saw three fish in the pond this morning which must mean the water is warming up enough to tempt them to move away from the pond heater. It always surprises me how much they grow over the winter, one of the ones I saw was well over six inches long.
I had intended to go out for lunch today but Ali and Bonnie came over, Ali having had no sleep. She fed Bonnie and then went for a rest in my bed. I sat with my newest grandchild and to my delight managed to get her to sleep and into her pram. She slept for just over two hours which was great. During that time Katy came up and we had soup together for lunch. Sadly she had to leave before Ali woke (or Bonnie for that matter). But I did enjoy seeing both of my big girls as well as my littlest.
I gave Ali some very late lunch then she headed home around 4.30. The traffic was bad on the Queensferry Road this afternoon, it went on until well after 6.30 which is unusual. I'm not sure if there were problems further out.
I decided to have a treat for dinner and went across to Cool Jade by the zoo for a very nice Chinese meal. By the time I got home I was almost ready for bed but held on for a couple of hours till now.
I'm meeting my old school friend tomorrow, we caught up just before Christmas after far too long. We're off to Dobbies for coffee.
Oh, and it's February at last! It's been a long expensive time since my December pension, lol.
