Trixie's Adventures

What a lovely sunny day

My human didn't have much to do today except go to the optician's (and that took forever) so we've had three big walks and have walked 20,515 steps. Well, I've probably walked more, because obviously when I'm off my lead I do loads of running about.

My bestest walk of the day was at Portobello/Seafield beach where I was off my lead for the whole time and we walked for more than 4.5 miles in the sunshine. I kept having to have little flop downs in the rock pools because I was running after my ball and that always makes me hot & tired.

But..................... guess what happened when we got to the end of my walk?.................... Ann went to clip me back onto my lead....................... but my lead had disappeared?!!! Where do you think it had gone?

…........Because Ann hates carrying things, she had tied it onto her bag. Obviously she hadn't remembered how to do the knots that she was taught in the guides 50 years ago! It must have come loose and fallen off onto the sand. No way was Ann going to re-trace 4.5 miles. It was way past lunchtime and she was hungry. So she improvised. I pretty much only had to go on my lead to cross the main road to where our car was parked and as I was carrying my ball, Ann knew that I would probably just trot alongside her in good dog mode. However, for health & safety reasons, she threaded the straps of her bag through my collar so that we could cross the road safely. And when we got home into our car park I was allowed to walk into our block of flats without any sort of restraint at all. Phew!

My other two walks today were both on my lead. Obviously, because I am a very spoilt, pampered pooch, I have lots of collars & leads. Even so, because I have now lost my red lead, Ann says that she will buy me a new one. Yay!!
