Bored!!!
My human is bored! We've been back in Edinburgh for two days and she has nothing to do. She needs a job because no one seems to want to rent our St Ives house at the moment and if Ann doesn't make some money, I might have to cut down on my treats. Or she needs to join a fitness club and attempt to turn herself into a sylph like model because she is the fattest she's ever been in her life.
Who would have thought getting a temporary job, or joining a fitness club, in a city, for 2-3 months would be so difficult?!! Everywhere is short of staff and yet no one wants to take on a 64 year old!!! When I go out on my walks, the same shops/pubs/cafes that Ann applied to work in 5 years ago, are still advertising, which seems to suggest that they take on students who are constantly leaving, or else they're so bad to work for that staff just leave. It's not like Ann wants a job as the CEO of an international company. She'd be more than happy to do a menial job for minimum wage!!! She just wants to get out of the house. She is soooooo bored..............
It was so different in St Ives. My human was 'headhunted' to work in the 'Pool Club', so for the seven weeks that we were there, she worked 20 hours (ie, four days a week). And on the days when she wasn't working, she went to Zumba and swimming on a PAYG basis. Zumba was £4 for an hour long class and the swimming was £5ph in a private pool. In Edinburgh, there's a pilates class just up the road for £12 for a 45min class (but you have to sign up for 10 classes) and a swim at the local council pool which is normally really busy costs £6.30!!! Grrrrrr....................
Ann says we'll just have to make our own entertainment and devise some little challenges for the two of us. She's thinking maybe we should aim to walk 20,000 steps a day for the next three months??!! Do you think that's do-able (is do-able even a word?) Apparently we've walked 13,817 steps today. That's what the health app on the phone is telling us. Ann's fitbit died years ago, and she never replaced it because she was getting too obsessed with steps/sleep/etc.etc. Maybe it's time to buy a new one?!
…............And that's all our rantings for today peeps. Phew, I bet you're glad?!!!!
This is a photo of me in Braidburn Valley Park this afternoon. The plan was to take me out for a couple of hours this afternoon, but it started to rain, so Ann lay on the sofa and caught up with 'Eastenders' & 'Call the Midwife'. It takes an hour to walk to Braidburn Valley Park and back, so when we got home at 3.30pm, we had to put all the lights on. My human hates dark evenings.
Oh well, hey ho, at least she has Corrie & Eastenders to watch on TV tonight.
Toodles. xxxx
